Since 1905, our family cheese business has evolved. With modern equipment, we export globally. Yet, traditions persist: milk from local farms, master cheese makers crafting regional, high-quality products, centered around Camembert. Passion drives our approximately 450 employees to innovate cheese specialties.

PROBAIXA SA, situated in Mação within Beira Baixa, renowned for its premium ham, stands as a key player in the region's ham industry. With a factory spanning over 6500 m2, it's a prominent facility, meticulously constructed over years of dedication and expertise. Established in 1990, Probaixa originated from the vision of eight entrepreneurs committed to delivering top-notch Beirão Ham to Portuguese consumers. In 2015, it was acquired by ARMANDO GONÇALVES & FILHOS SA, maintaining its operations to date. Specializing in pork and dairy processing, Probaixa adheres to stringent hygiene and manufacturing standards, holding the prestigious IFS Food Standard certification while preserving traditional recipes. The company prioritizes quality by sourcing the finest raw materials and utilizing cutting-edge machinery. Future plans entail maintaining leadership through quality, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
